Artist, Lisa Inglis, has a bachelor's degree in art education and is a former high school art teacher who loves to bring the joy of discovery and creating to new people. Inglis sometimes hosts informal "painting and pints" sessions for adults to get together and enjoy being creative while having a few drinks with friends. She also teaches a beginning drawing class in the Spring to a variety of students, however, says Inglis, some students have been attending long enough that they can hardly be considered "beginners" at this point.
For her own work, Lisa has most recently been working on a series of paintings called "Escapes".
The escape may be that of the artist or of the viewer. Many of the paintings in the series will depict local scenery, some will be art for the sake of it, and some will be scenes encountered while traveling.
The format for the "Escapes" series is intentionally small enough to fit in a suitcase. It is the artist's goal to spend more time being creative wherever
she is. Also, this size makes it easy for visitors to our area to take a piece
of Amelia Island home with them.
Enjoy your Escape!
